Aside from debuting the Pura X foldable smartphone, Huawei has also introduced a new pair of true wireless earbuds called the Huawei FreeBuds 6. This is the Chinese tech giant’s latest take on open-style earbuds and its name suggests, is the successor to the FreeBuds 5.

Huawei FreeBuds 6 specs and features

Like its predecessor, the Huawei FreeBuds 6 continues to rock a water-drop shape design. However, it’s now lighter, with each earbud weighing just 4.9g, and has a shorter stem. This should make the earbuds more comfortable to wear.

At the heart of the Huawei FreeBuds 6 are the new 11mm four-magnet dynamic and dual drivers, which Huawei says can produce highs at up to 48kHz and bass as low as 14Hz. Active noise cancellation is also included with these earbuds.

In the connectivity department, the Huawei FreeBuds 6 sports some improvement over its predecessor, specifically sporting a 2.3Mbps bandwidth. According to Huawei, more than 10,000 people contributed feedback to refine the design and sound quality of the FreeBuds 6.

Battery-wise, each of the earbuds comes with a 39.5mAh, while the charging case is packed with a 510mAh unit. Together with the case, battery life is rated at up to 36 hours. Huawei says a 5-minute charge can give you 2.5 hours worth of music listening.

Charging the earbuds to full using the charging case will take 25 minutes, while juicing up the case from flat to full takes 45 minutes.

Additionally, the earbuds are rated at IP54 for dust and splash resistance. To get the best experience out of the FreeBuds 6, you will want to pair it with the Huawei AI Life app which comes with its own EQ settings to customise your listening experience.

Huawei FreeBuds 6 price and availability in China

Already on sale in China, the Huawei FreeBuds 6 is priced from RMB 999 (~RM609). Customers get to choose to have their FreeBuds 6 in either of these shades, namely white, purple, and black.
