Xiaomi’s Poco brand is launching its F7 series next week and this would be their new “flagship killer” smartphones to succeed last year’s Poco F6 and F6 Pro. Poco has officially revealed the first official pictures of their new flagship duo – F7 Pro and F7 Ultra, which are essentially “rebadged” Redmi K80 series smartphones.

The Poco F7 series is expected to go on sale in Malaysia very soon and this could be the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite powered flagship smartphone.

Poco F7 series global launch event

The new Poco F7 series global launch is happening in Singapore on the 27th March 2025. The event will be streamed live at 4pm local time via Mi.com and their official Youtube channel.

Since Malaysia is a key market, we can expect the Poco F7 series to go on sale via their official online stores shortly after the global event along with the usual early bird pricing.

According to the Malaysian Poco F7 event page, they will be offering 1+1 year extended warranty, 6 months of Google One 100GB Cloud Storage (for the F7 Ultra), free one-time screen repair or repair service within 6 months, and other rewards which include rewards redemption through IMEI number.

What to expect from Poco F7 Pro and F7 Ultra?

According to the purported leaked specs from 91Mobile, the Poco F7 Pro and F7 Ultra will come with a 6.67″ 120Hz AMOLED display that pushes 3200×1400 pixels resolution. As shown above, both devices come with a typical candybar design with a circular off-centred camera bump, however, the rear glass panel for the Ultra protrudes slightly with rounded off edges, while the camera bump is also slightly thicker.

The F7 Pro is expected to run on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 12GB of RAM along with storage options of 256GB and 512GB. Meanwhile, the F7 Ultra will runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite with the option for 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage and 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

In the camera department, the F7 Pro gets a more basic dual-camera setup with a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Meanwhile, the F7 Ultra gets a more versatile triple-camera setup which include a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and a 32MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

For selfies, the F7 Pro is said to come with a 20MP front shooter, while the Ultra gets a higher resolution 32MP camera.

Keeping up with the times, both devices are said to come with IP68-rated dust and water resistance. The Poco F7 Pro is expected to come with a 6,000mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired charging. Meanwhile, the Poco F7 Ultra is said to come with a smaller 5,300mAh battery that also supports 120W fast wired charging, but it would support 50W wireless charging.

As a reference, last year’s Poco F6 was priced from RM1,799 (Early bird: RM1,559) while the Poco F6 Pro retails from RM2,299 (Early bird: RM2,059). The new Poco F7 series is expected to be an interesting alternative to the Xiaomi 14T series which runs on MediaTek 8300-Ultra and 9300+ chips.
