If you’ve been paying attention to Samsung recently, you know that the brand is set to introduce a new super slim flagship, known as the Galaxy S25 Edge. Its launch is expected to take place this year, with some rumours suggesting it to be as soon as April.

The phone was showcased at the brand’s 2025 Galaxy Unpacked event as well as the recently-held MWC 2025. However, we were, like everyone else, only allowed to look at it without touching it.

From its exterior, we can see that the Galaxy S25 Edge is indeed slim, and comes with a back cover that features a dual camera setup with a design reminiscent of Sony’s Xperia 5 V. Beyond that, Samsung has remained tight-lipped about the phone’s specs.

Samsung assures the Galaxy S25 Edge will be tough enough despite its ultra thin design

In an interview with TechRadar, the company assured that the Galaxy S25 Edge’s durability won’t be compromised despite it being thinner than usual. Commenting on the design of the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung UK Mobile Experience (MX) VP of Product and Marketing, Annika, Bizon said:

“I can’t say too much, but what I will say is that [the Edge] is about beautiful form factor. And there are two points I want to make. One is that it’s absolutely stunning. And if you think about the technology that’s going into that size of space, it’s pretty impressive. The second thing I’ll say concerns durability. With anything slim, durability [has to come as part of the package]. Those are the two features [of the Edge] that are exciting [for us]. Well, I know durability isn’t exciting – but it’s really important. So watch this space, because there are some exciting things to come regarding this phone.”

There have also been rumours regarding the S25 Edge possibly being built with ceramic-infused glass instead of Gorilla Glass Victus 2, as ceramic is tougher than glass. Bizon’s statement might just further solidify the credibility of these rumours.

Plus size screen with lightweightness of a compact phone

Although Samsung has yet to reveal specific details about the Galaxy S25 Edge, renowned tech leakers such as Ice Universe recently spilled some info, claiming that the ultra slim Korean flagship will measure just 5.84mm in thickness, making it over a full mm thinner than the regular S25. For its size, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is said to be pretty light too, weighing only 162g, just like the vanilla S25.

Another leaker by the name of Yogesh Brar, also revealed that the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to sport a 6.6-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, and is most probably going to be powered by the “For Galaxy” variant of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC just like the rest of the Galaxy S25 devices. The dual camera setup is most likely to be made up of a 200MP main sensor and a 50MP ultrawide shooter.

However, the device is expected to be packed with a 3,900mAh battery, which will make it the model with the smallest battery in the Galaxy S25 series. Wired charging speed is also said to be clocked at 25W, equivalent to the vanilla S25.
