New Tesla Model Y Specs and Features recap

The new version gets a Cybertruck inspired lightbar for the front and a full width indirect lightbar at the rear. With the latest redesign, the new Tesla Model Y boasts an impressive low drag coefficient rating of just 0.22Cd which is on par with aerodynamic sedans such as the Tesla Model 3 and BYD Seal.
As a result, the upgraded Model Y now offers more WLTP-rated range with the base RWD model offering up to 466km (11km more than previous model), while the Long Range AWD version offers up to 551km (18km more than previous model).
In terms of performance, the Model Y RWD has a 0-100km/h time of 5.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the Model Y LR AWD can do the century sprint in just 4.3 seconds, with the Accelerated Boost which is offered for free with the Launch series package. The top speed for both variants is capped at 201km/h, which is lower than the previous Model Y’s 217km/h.
The Model Y still offers one of the largest storage in its class with a total capacity of 2,130 litres. The frunk now comes with a drainage plug which makes it convenient to turn it into an ice box. Meanwhile, the secondary underfloor storage in the boot is also slightly deeper. Also new is the added powered rear seats which makes it easier to fold up or down the seats from the boot.

As expected with the new model, Tesla has brought over the new upgrades from the current Tesla Model Y which include redesigned seats with ventilated function and a secondary screen for rear occupants. In case you’re wondering, Tesla continues to include a signal stalk on the new Model Y, however, the gear selection still uses the touch screen display and there are also backup buttons on the ceiling.

If you haven’t place your order yet, Tesla Malaysia says that customers are still able to enjoy the “Launch Series” perks which include a special badging on the rear liftgate, puddle light, doorsill plate, charging console wordmark and vegan suede for the Black Interior. As mentioned earlier, the LR AWD version comes with Acceleration Boost.
