Apple has launched a new app called “Invites”. Essentially, this app is designed to make it more convenient for you to create and share custom invitations, and RSVP for events, between you and your friends and family.
Aside from creating events, sharing invitations, and RSVP, participants can also contribute photos and videos to a dedicated Shared Album within each invite, allowing for collaborative event photo collections.
Apple Music subscribers can also create collaborative playlists which guests can access directly from the invitation.
The app also incorporates Apple’s Maps and Weather integrations, providing guests with directions and weather forecasts for the event’s location and date. To make your invitation more personal, you can attach an image to it by either selecting an image from your photo library or choosing from a curated gallery of backgrounds to design personalised invitations for various occasions.
If you still can’t find the image you want, just use the built-in Image Playground feature within Apple Intelligence to generate a custom image via descriptions or personal photos. Speaking of Apple Intelligence, there’s also the Writing Tools feature, which can assist you in generating an appropriate message to go with your invitation.
If your iPhone is running on iOS 18 or later, you can download the Apple Invites app from the App Store or access it online at no cost. Guests can even RSVP through the app or on the web without needing an iCloud+ subscription, an Apple account, or an Apple device.
However, to create an invitation, you will need to subscribe to one of Apple’s iCloud+ plans first, which prices start from RM3.90/month for the base 50GB storage tier. With that, you as the host will have full control over your events, including the ability to view and manage details, share invitations via links, review RSVPs, and customise event previews.
