ChargEV is now offering discounts for EV owners to celebrate the opening of its EV charging hub in Bandar 16 Sierra, Puchong. The same promotion is also available at the equally new Pitstop Tangkak in Johor.
Under this promo, EV owners can now enjoy a 15% discount on EV charging at both locations until 29 January. With the discount, they only need to pay RM1.36 per kWh instead of the usual RM1.60 per kWh fee.
However, this discount does not apply to those who have an active ChargEV Yearly Plan membership. Their charging rate remains at RM0.80 per kWh, which is already 50% off the normal rate.
Meanwhile, our observations showed that the discount is not limited to just the ChargEV app but is also available through Gentari Go and JomCharge. The listing of ChargEV chargers on both apps was made possible through the roaming agreement that these CPOs signed in 2023.
ChargEV Sierra Fresco and Pitstop Tangkak: same setup, different purpose
Despite being located in different parts of Peninsular Malaysia, there are many similarities between ChargEV Sierra Fresco and Pitstop Tangkak. Both have been fitted with a Kempower DC charging solution with 8 DC satellite terminals currently configured to deliver up to 120kW.
Hardware-wise, both locations have a maximum capacity of 400kW but ChargEV will only increase the charging capacity once the power source from the grid is upgraded. In addition to that, they are also equipped with a battery energy storage system similar to the ChargEV KLGCC.
That being said, Sierra Fresco features a common car park arrangement since it is located in a commercial retail area. On the other hand, charging terminals at Pitstop Tangkak feature bigger parking boxes to accommodate commercial electric trucks.
