Just days before we enter 2025, TNB Electron has turned on another EV charging site, located in Kuala Lumpur. This time it is a 200kW DC Charger deployed at BHPetrol Jalan Genting Klang 1. As part of its introductory offer, this EV fast charger is available for free for a limited time.
The latest DC Charger deployment is the first TNB Electron EV charging site located in a BHPetrol station. We’ve been told that they are working closely with them to expand the EV charging infrastructure to cover more locations including trunk roads.
This BHP Genting Klang location has been deployed with an Autel DC Charger with two CCS2 nozzles that’s configured to deliver up to 200kW. If two EVs are plugged in, the charging capacity will be split dynamically with the two nozzles.
Similar to the TNB Electron 200kW DC Charger at Juru Soundbound and 180kW DC Charger at Gunung Semanggol R&R Southbound, this charger is priced at RM1.50 per kWh. You’ll have to activate the charger using the Go To-U app which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
As usual, TNB Electron also offers free charging for its newly deployed EV charging sites. Users can enjoy free charging at the BHPetrol Genting Klang site from 12:00pm (30th December 2024) until 11:59am (31st December 2024). So that’s 24 hours of free charging.
Take note that the Go To-U app allows users to reserve the charger in advance. If you’re planning to take advantage of the free charging promo, it is recommended to check on the availability and reserve the nozzle before heading to the location.

This year we have seen several new EV charger deployments from TNB Electron especially on the east coast. Besides BHPetrol, the charge point operator has also partnered with Petron and they have deployed DC chargers at Selising in Kelantan and Kg Gemuroh in Terengganu. They have also partnered with Aeon to deploy DC chargers in Aeon Mall Taiping, Kinta City, Seri Manjung and Kota Bharu.
TNB Electron aims to increase its EV charging infrastructure to 200 charging points by the end of 2025.
