Just less than two weeks ago, a leaked poster suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be making its launch on the 22nd of January 2025, just before Chinese New Year takes place. Now, new sources are hinting at the devices’ release date.
According to a report by Fnnews, the initial release of Samsung’s upcoming non-foldable flagship smartphones, which is expected to include the Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25+, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, will occur on the 7th of February 2025. For reference, the Galaxy S24 series was launched on the 17th of January and released on the 31st of January, 2024.
Also, considering Malaysia is one of Samsung’s key markets, we can expect the Samsung Galaxy S25 series to be available for pre-orders here shortly after the global Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event.
And no, we certainly haven’t forgotten about the latest member of the Galaxy S family, the Galaxy S25 Slim. As its name suggests, the device will sport a thin chassis, whose dimensions have yet to be confirmed, but will most probably sport a measurement around the 6mm ballpark. This is thinner than the current Galaxy S24, which measures 7.6mm.
However, the Galaxy S25 Slim is only expected to be teased or at most make an appearance at Samsung’s Unpacked event in January. Its release will most probably only take place later this year (around April).
Due to Samsung facing supply-related challenges with its next-gen flagship mobile chipset, dubbed “Exynos 2500”, there’s a high chance the Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be utilising Qualcomm’s latest and greatest, the Snapdragon 8 Elite instead.
The top-dog Galaxy S25 Ultra is also said to receive a RAM bump to 16GB for its 512GB and 1TB configurations. The RAM upgrade is most probably done to better support Samsung’s on-device AI features. The S25 Ultra’s ultrawide angle camera will also see an increase in resolution to 50MP, up from the 12MP the current Galaxy S24 Ultra sports.
As expected, the whole Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup will probably launch with the brand’s latest One UI 7 out of the box, built atop Android 15. Like the Galaxy S24 series, the S25 family should also be promised with up to 7 years of major software upgrades.
