Oppo says the Reno series has always been about its back cover designs. With the Reno 13, Oppo has implemented a butterfly-themed design it calls “Butterfly Shadow” on the back of selected colour options, such as Plume Purple and Plume White.
There is also a colour variant called Luminous Blue which sports a design element dubbed “Luminous Loop” around the rear camera island that will light up in the dark. Oppo says this design is inspired by celestial meteor showers and “blue tears” that can be occasionally spotted at certain beaches, including in Malaysia.
At the time of writing, Oppo has yet to announce the full specs of the Reno 13 series for the Malaysian market. However, what we know is that the Oppo Reno 13 series will come with 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED displays. At the heart of the Oppo Reno 13 and Reno 13 Pro is MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 chipset, and will come with Oppo’s latest ColorOS 15.
The Oppo Reno 13 series is also rated for up to IP69 for dust and water resistance and will come with new AI-related features such as AI Live Photo and AI Editor that are also found in other recent Oppo devices.
In China, the Oppo Reno 13 sports a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a main 50MP camera and an 8MP ultrawide shooter. The Reno 13 Pro on the other hand is equipped with an additional 50MP telephoto sensor. The Chinese market Reno 13 devices also get up to 80W wired charging, via Oppo’s SuperVooc technology.
With the pre-order already underway, we can expect Oppo to launch the Reno 13 series in Malaysia very soon.
