Huawei has just debuted its latest foldable smartphone, the Huawei Mate X6, here in Malaysia. From now till the 10th of January 2025, you can pre-order the Mate X6 and enjoy early bird benefits.

The Huawei Mate X6 is retailed for RM8,688 here in Malaysia. As mentioned above, the foldable smartphone is available for pre-order between and the 10th of January 2025.

The Huawei Mate X6 in Malaysia is offered with two material finishings, namely vegan fibre and vegan leather, along with three colour options which include Nebula Red, Nebula Grey, and Black.

In terms of display, the Huawei Mate X6 comes with a 7.93-inch LTPO OLED main display with a resolution of 2440 x 2240 pixels, up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits.

When folded, you get a 6.45-inch LTPO OLED cover display with a resolution of 2440 x 1080 pixels, up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, along with a peak brightness of 2,500 nits. These displays are protected by the second-generation Kunlun Glass, which is said to offer 25 times better drop resistance.

Powering the Huawei Mate X6 is the brand’s own developed Kirin 9020 processor, built on 3nm technology. The SoC is paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. However, the Mate X6 loses out on support for external NM memory cards, which its predecessors did.

In the imaging department, you get a quad rear camera setup, arranged in a camera island design Huawei calls “Space-Age Orbit”. This houses a 50MP Ultra Aperture Camera with OIS, featuring a 10-size adjustable physical aperture, ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, a 40MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera, a 48MP f/3.0 telephoto macro camera with OIS, and a 1.5 million Spectral Channels Ultra Chroma camera.

As for selfies, you get an 8MP f/2.4 front camera “punched into” the cover screen, along with an 8MP f/2.2 front camera when your phone is unfolded.

Battery-wise, the Huawei Mate X6 is equipped with a 5,110mAh cell, which can be charged using a USC-C cable via the brand’s 66W Huawei SuperCharge technology. There’s also support for 50W Wireless Huawei SuperCharge. In terms of software, the Mate X6 runs on Huawei’s EMUI 15 operating system.
