Tesla Malaysia has activated the new Tesla Supercharger at Skudai R&R Southbound in Johor. The new deployment is essentially the first Tesla Supercharger on a highway in Malaysia.
Over at Skudai R&R Southbound, there are a total of four Superchargers V4 stations with each of them can deliver a maximum power output of 250kW. Of course, the exact charging speed depends on your Tesla’s battery level and the amount of Tesla vehicles that are charging on the site at the same time.
Tesla Supercharger Skudai R&R Southbound’s charging fee is different
Interestingly enough, the charging fee for the Skudai R&R Southbound is different from other Superchargers in Malaysia. In case you missed it, Tesla Malaysia recently slashed the Supercharger charging fee from RM1.25 per kWh to RM1.13 per kWh which is a reduction of around 10%.
However, the charging fee for the new Supercharger Skudai R&R somehow still follows the old rate of RM1.25 per kWh. As for the idle fee, it remains the same at RM4.00 per minute.
More Tesla Superchargers are on their way
Before this, the majority of Tesla Superchargers in Malaysia are located in shopping malls. There are certain exceptions such as Gamuda Cove, Kuantan, and Tesla Service Centre Cyberjaya but none of them are located directly on a highway rest areas.
Meanwhile, there are still more Tesla Superchargers to be deployed in Malaysia. In our previous report, we highlighted that Tesla has installed Superchargers at Mercu Maybank in Shah Alam while the company have also shortlisted several locations such as Mid Valley Southkey Johor Bahru, Petaling Jaya, and Ipoh.
