DC Handal has announced another new DC charger in Klang Valley that costs only RM1 per kWh to use. Unlike the one in Putrajaya which features a relatively low output 47kW DC charger, the new deployment involves a much more powerful 120kW charger according to the CPO’s Facebook page.
The new charger features Mini Auto Bavaria branding
Located at the IJM Land Centre of Excellence (ICE) Gallery in Pantai Sentral Park KL, the charger comes in the form of an Autel MaxiCharger DC Fast charger with two CC2 nozzles.
The new charger is also draped in Mini Auto Bavaria livery which was a result of the partnership that DC Handal and Auto Bavaria announced last year. However, it is unknown for now whether DC Handal will provide a special charging fee for Auto Bavaria customers at this charger.
As per all DC Handal’s chargers out there, you can pay for the charging fee at Pantai Sentral Park simply by tapping your credit or debit card on the payment terminal which also accepts Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay. Alternatively, you can also activate the charger using the ChargEV or JomCharge app.
The charging fee is among the lowest in Malaysia
That being said, the RM1 per kWh charging fee is already quite low. Not only it is much lower than the average market rate, it is certainly one of the lowest charging fees in the country.
As a comparison, the average DC charging fee in Malaysia at the moment is RM1.50 per kWh. In fact, this rate applies to many of DC Handal’s high-powered locations such as the Johor Premium Outlet, West Coast Expressway, Bangsar South, and Wisma MCA KL.
Aside from IJM ICE Gallery KL and Pulse Grande Hotel Putrajaya, another DC Handal location that costs only RM1 per kWh to utilise is MG Motor Petaling Jaya. The setup is similar to Putrajaya though which is a dual-nozzle 47kW Autel MaxiCharger DC Compact unit.
On a related note, the McDonald’s Drive-Thru Pantai Sentral Park which is located next to the IJM ICE Gallery also has a DC charger albeit running at a slightly slower speed of 100kW. Operated by JomCharge, you can still utilise it for just RM1 per kWh right now even though it is supposed to be a limited-time promo price.
