Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has officially launched the Nissan Kicks e-Power in Malaysia. This is a hybrid vehicle that is essentially an EV with a petrol engine as a genset.
As teased earlier, the Nissan Kicks e-Power is priced well under RM130,000 and they have been accepting bookings since last month.
Nissan Kicks e-Power Malaysia Pricing
The Nissan Kicks e-Power comes in two variants including a two-tone option for the higher-spec VLT version. Here’s the official pricing in Malaysia:
- Nissan Kicks e-Power VL – RM113,800
- Nissan Kicks e-Power VLT – RM121,800
- Nissan Kicks e-Power VLT (2-tone) – RM125,800
The Nissan Kicks e-Power comes with a 5-year/100,000km warranty and 8-year/160,000km warranty for the EV components which include the Lithium-Ion battery, inverter, motor and e-Power Control Unit.
As part of the introductory offer, ETCM is offering a RM5,000 rebate and a 10-year EV components warranty for the first 500 customers of the Nissan Kicks e-Power. Deliveries are expected to begin in early 2025.
Nissan Kicks e-Power Key Specs and Features
The Nissan Kicks e-Power features a 1.2L 3-cylinder generator petrol engine and an electric motor that pushes 95kW (127hp) and 280Nm, and to charge the 2.06kWh Lithium-Ion battery. This compact SUV boasts a 0-100km/h acceleration of 9.5 seconds, up to a top-speed of 180km/h.
The Nissan Kicks e-Power is said to be capable of delivering an impressive fuel efficiency of 21.7km per litre (based on NEDC cycle). It is claimed to offer a driving range of up to 900km from its 41-litre fuel tank.
Unlike conventional hybrids, the Nissan Kicks e-Power provides the closest driving experience to an electric vehicle. The SUV is 100% driven by the electric motor which provides instant torque and it also has e-Pedal which provides a one-pedal driving experience.
According to ETCM, the e-Power system offers 20% lower tailpipe emissions and lower running costs compared to internal combustion engine powered vehicles. It is said that an average service costs RM365.
Both Nissan Kicks e-Power variants will come with 7 airbags, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Intelligent Driver Alertness (IDA) and Cruise Control.
Also included as standard are 8″ infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-speakers and 3x USB ports.
The range-topping VLT adds exra driver assistance and safety features such as intelligent around view monitor (360-degree camera) with Intelligent Moving Object Detection, Intelligent rear view mirror, intelligent cruise control, blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert. The dual-tone leather Zero Gravity seats and the option for dual-tone exterior body colour are offered for an extra RM4,000. .
