Planning to fly home to Sabah and Sarawak this coming Chinese New Year? AirAsia has kicked off its fixed fares promo for the upcoming festive season where you can book an all-in one-way fare to East Malaysia from RM328.

The upcoming Chinese New Year falls on 29th January 2025 and if you haven’t book your tickets yet, this might be a deal worth checking out.

Fly to Sarawak for RM328, to Sabah for RM388 this coming Chinese New Year

The fixed fare promo offers all-in one-way fares of just RM328 for flights between Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri, as well as Johor Bahru to Kuching Sibu, Bintulu and Miri.

Meanwhile for those heading to Sabah, AirAsia offers all-in one-way fares of just RM388 for flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau, and Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu and Tawau.

Take note that the fixed fare promo is only valid for selected flights as listed above (one flight per sector) which are mostly scheduled close or around midnight. The all-in fares include passenger service charge, regulatory service charges, fuel surcharge and other fees. However, it excludes other options such as checked-in luggage allowance, seat selection, meals and more.

The booking period for the promo is from today (3rd December 2024) until 4th February 2025, for the travel period of 24th January to 4th February 2025.

According to AirAsia, they are operating almost 3,600 flights weekly during the 2025 festive season with over 27,000 feats available at fixed prices.

RM499 base fare cap for flights four days before Christmas

In addition, AirAsia is also supporting the government’s initiative of setting a ceiling price of RM499 for one-way economy class flights for flights from Peninsular Malaysia to East Malaysia during the year-end holiday season. The base fare for selected flights will be offered at a maximum of RM499 applicable for flights four days before Christmas Day (25th December 2024).

Commenting on the campaign, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said, “The government remains committed to helping people reunite during festive periods. It is encouraging to see AirAsia leading efforts to make travel more affordable and accessible. This aligns with our ongoing initiatives, including the RM499** ceiling fare subsidy and the FLYsiswa programme to ease student financial burden to travel between Peninsular and East Malaysia. We look forward to collaborating with other industry partners on this initiative for the betterment of our nation.”

AirAsia is also advising all travellers to self check-in online via AirAsia.com or the AirAsia Move app, up to 14 days prior to the departure date and to use the eBoarding pass for a seamless travel experience. During the festive season, passengers are advised to arrive early at the airport and the baggage drop counters are open three hours before departure for international flights, and two hours before departure for domestic flights within Malaysia.
