Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition: Malaysia’s best gaming phone?

Gaming phones might not be the most popular type of smartphone out there, but they do provide some extra value in delivering the best gaming experience possible for those passionate about smartphone games. Asus, one of the most renowned names in the gaming phone business has just unveiled its latest contenders in the space, the Asus ROG Phone 9 series.

The lineup consists of three models, namely the Asus ROG Phone 9, ROG Phone 9 Pro, and the ROG Phone 9 Pro Edition. In the US, prices start from USD1,000 (~RM4,468) and top out at USD1,500 (~RM6,701).

At the moment of writing, the Asus ROG Phone 9 series is not available in Malaysia just yet, with its local launch set to happen soon. Prices will also be revealed then. However, does it pack the right ingredients to become the best gaming phone in Malaysia?

What’s new with the Asus ROG Phone 9 series?

Despite looking rather similar to its predecessor, the Asus ROG Phone 9 series does sport some serious updates, especially under its hood.

Don’t let its minimalistic design fool you, as hidden within its back cover is Asus’ AniMe Vision mini-LED matrix display that’s now larger than before. You can even play games on it!

The biggest update the ROG Phone 9 series has received has to be its processor, which is the new and feisty Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Asus has also added new AI gaming features to help enhance your gaming experience.

If you decide to get the top-of-the-line Pro Edition model, you will also get the new AeroActive Cooler X Pro which now comes with a bigger fan for enhanced cooling.
