You can book the new Lalamove Ride service through the same Lalamove mobile app which is available for Android and iOS. In case you are wondering about its legitimacy, the Land Public Transport Agency (APAC) has listed Lalamove as one of the 34 companies that have obtained e-hailing license from the regulator.

At the moment, the service only available in Klang Valley although Lalamove has hinted that it is already working to roll out Lalamove Ride at other cities in the near future. For now, you can only book sedan car which can fit up to 4 passengers.

Malaysian e-hailing market has just got exciting again

Lalamove Ride Malaysia vs Bolt Malaysia
[ L – R]: Lalamove Ride vs Bolt for the route GMBB – Suria KLCC at 6:49 PM today.

It has been quite sometime since the Malaysian e-hailing market received new players. All of sudden, this month saw Lalamove Ride and Bolt trying to challenge the dominance of Grab in Malaysia.

Between the two new outfits, Lalamove Ride appears to be a more basic than Bolt. Not only that the user interface of Lalamove app is much more rudimentary, Lalamove Ride only offers sedan cars at the moment while Bolt already has 6-seater and premium vehicles.

Furthermore, Bolt is currently offering 50% discount for up to 20 rides for new users. I can’t seem to find any offers for Lalamove Ride although take note Lalamove does have its own loyalty program called Lalamove Rewards.

It might be too early to talk about their pricing competitiveness since both outfits have just launched their e-hailing service. Nevertheless, a quick comparison at around 6:49 PM today for the route from our office in Bukit Bintang to Suria KLCC showed that Lalamove Ride costs much lower than Bolt.
