Beats has always been known as an audio brand ever since it was established by Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine back in 2006. This continues to be so even after it was acquired by Apple in 2014 but Beats has recently added a new type of product into its offering: iPhone case.
The unveiling of the new Beats cases is aptly timed with the launch of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro. Even though these new iPhone models will only be available for pre-order in Malaysia on 13 September, you are already able to order the new Beats iPhone cases through Apple Malaysia’s website.
How to differentiate Beats iPhone 16 cases from Apple-branded cases
With these newly launched cases from Beats, consumers now have three distinctive first-party cases that they can choose for their new iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. As they look almost identical to Apple’s iPhone Silicone Cases, how can you identify the Beats cases then?
Unlike Apple iPhone Clear Cases and Silicone Cases, there is no Apple or Beats logo on the rear section of Beats cases. Instead, there is only the outline of the MagSafe magnetic mounting.
Fret not, there is still a Beats logo on its cases. However, it is located right in the centre of the microfibre material that covers the inner section of the cases. In addition to that, there is also Beats name on the left side of the case
The Beats iPhone cases also feature hard-shell polycarbonate back similar to the Apple-branded iPhone Clear Cases. It also has flexible sidewalls that are made from thermoplastic polyurethane while its exterior has been treated with a scratch-resistant coating to make it more durable against the elements.
Camera Control still works with Beats iPhone cases
One of the biggest new features that was introduced in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro is the new Camera Control button. It not only allows users to swiftly capture photos and videos but also allows them to quickly adjust camera settings by using swipe gestures.
To make sure that this feature is still accessible when the iPhone is covered by the Beats case, the Camera Control button on the case has been fitted with a sapphire crystal paired with a conductive layer. This ensures that the user’s finger movements can still be relayed to the iPhone.
Same price as Apple-branded cases
In terms of pricing, the new Beats cases for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro can be obtained for RM239 each which is identical to the price of Apple Clear Cases and Silicone Cases.
They are available in four colourways including Midnight Black, Summit Stone, Riptide Blue and Sunset Purple across all four iPhone 16 models. You can choose to have the new Beats cases delivered to your premises or pick them up personally at Apple The Exchange TRX.
