Alongside the Magic V3 foldable smartphone, Honor also announced its latest laptop, the MagicBook Art 14 at its launch event yesterday (5th September 2024).
Honor’s MagicBook Art 14 measures just 1cm thin and 1kg light
One of the main points of the Honor MagicBook Art 14 the Chinese tech company wants to highlight is that it only measures 1 cm thin and 1kg light. Its body is crafted using a magnesium alloy, while its keyboard is made out of titanium alloy.
The Honor MagicBook Art 14 is fitted with a 14.6-inch 120Hz 3.1K (3120 x 2080 pixels) OLED display, with 4320Hz PWM dimming, laid out in a 3:2 aspect ratio. Surrounding the display are bezels measuring just 2.2mm thick, contributing to a 97% screen-to-body ratio.
To make those thin bezels possible, Honor has given the MagicBook Art 14 a detachable magnetic camera that can be stowed into its dedicated slot located on the left side of the laptop’s chassis. The dashcam, which has a resolution of 1080p, can also be attached either towards or against the user, making it more versatile to use than other laptops.
Despite being ultra-thin, it still has a full selection of ports
Powering the Honor MagicBook Art 14 is the Intel Core Ultra 5 125H chip, paired with an Intel Arc graphics chip, along with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of SSD internal storage.
We’re happy to report that despite the MagicBook Art 14 being ultra-thin, Honor did not sacrifice the ports available on this laptop. It’s equipped with a full selection of I/O ports, including a USB-A port, a USB-C port, a HDMI 2.1 port, a Thunderbolt 4 port, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of audio, the Honor MagicBook Art 14 is packed with a six-speaker spatial audio setup, featuring two tweeters and four bass units.
The MagicBook Art 14 comes with a 60Wh battery, which Honor claims can help the laptop survive through 9.5 hours of daily office work. With a full charge, the laptop is also said to be able to deliver 11 hours of local video playback.
Software-wise, the Honor MagicBook Art 14 runs on Windows 11 Home and is equipped with Microsoft’s Copilot AI suite. This includes features such as Intelligent Email Management, Data insight & Visualization, and Real-time Transcription and Summarization.
