Pico 4 Ultra specs and features
The Pico 4 Ultra is equipped with a dual 32MP RGB camera and an iToF depth-sensing camera. The device also sports a panoramic workspace concept which supports multi-window operations.
Users can freely adjust the size and layout of application windows in a boundless virtual space for multitasking operations. With a single click in the system navigation bar, users can switch between immersive and passthrough modes as well.
This is made possible thanks to the Pico 4 Ultra being equipped with seven visual sensors. There are also four environmental tracking cameras around the body of the device, which are used for SLAM spatial positioning. Meanwhile, two colour cameras and one iToF depth-sensing camera are utilised for environmental perception. Speaking of the iToF camera, it’s capable of precisely measuring distances of up to 3 metres at a wide angle of 60 degrees.
As for displays, the Pico 4 Ultra is equipped with a pair of 2.56″ 4K+ (2160 x 2160 pixels) super-sense displays. By default, these displays support up to 90Hz refresh rate. The rendering resolution of the mixed reality headset has also been increased to 1920 x 1920 pixels, which is approximately 62% higher than the Pico 4.
Powering the Pico 4 Ultra is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip. This is then paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. For a comfortable wearing experience, the Pico 4 Ultra has been designed with a balanced weight distribution. The front main unit weighs around 304 grams, while the rear head cushion weighs around 276 grams. This contributes to the device’s total weight of 580 grams.
To enable better spatial video recording, the Pico 4 Ultra sports bionic human eye lenses which have been slightly spaced out. This enables it to simulate human binocular vision when shooting spatial videos, presenting 3D images with spatial depth to viewers.
The Pico 4 Ultra can shoot spatial videos at a maximum resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels at 60fps. Pico also promises to push updates in the future to support spatial audio recording.
What’s more, the Pico 4 Ultra also supports spatial videos and photos shot by Apple devices, including those captured using an iPhone 15 Pro and Vision Pro. Users can directly watch these content by importing them into the Pico 4 Ultra’s photo gallery.
Pico currently has 600 applications, with 500 of them being games. Its game library consists of 48 mixed reality titles and 21 titles that are compatible with the Pico Motion Tracker.
Pico Motion Tracker specs and features
Alongside the Pico 4 Ultra, the Pico Motion Tracker has also been introduced here in Malaysia. Users simply need to strap it to their ankles to achieve full-body motion capture.
The tracker and base only weigh 27 grams and can be used continuously for around 25 hours. Paired with Pico’s propriety multimodal fusion tracking solution, the Pico Motion Tracker is said to deliver highly accurate motion capture with low latency. It’s also compatible with popular entertainment applications such as VRChat, Tempo Club, and Les Mills Dance.
The Pico Motion Tracker can be automatically paired with a Pico headset upon startup. The company promises subsequent automatic reconnection every time the tracker is turned on.
Calibrating the Motion Tracker is also simple. Users simply need to stand and look down at the device to calibrate. Aside from the new Pico 4 Ultra, the Pico Motion Tracker is compatible with previously launched models too, such as the Pico 4 Pro and Pico 4.
