West Coast Expressway (WCE) coverage will be expanded further with the opening of the Section 1 route on 31 August. The new route links traffic from Banting to the interchange for the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) at Tanjung Dua Belas in Jenjarom.
You can travel the WCE Section 1 toll-free for almost a month
From midnight of 31 August, you can utilise the 11km route toll-free until 11:59 PM of 29 September 2024. Just to be clear, the toll-free travel does not apply to the whole WCE.
You can only enjoy the toll-free benefit by travelling from the WCE Banting toll plaza to the Tanjung Dua Belas interchange or vice versa. If you are coming from Banting, you do have to continue your journey using SKVE anyway since WCE’s Section 2 to Section 4 are still under construction.

In addition to Section 1, other WCE routes within Selangor that are already opened to traffic include Section 5 and Section 6 which provide the link between Bandar Bukit Raja Selatan and Assam Jawa. On the other hand, all four WCE sections at Perak which covers Hutan Melintang to Taiping Selatan have been opened since a few months ago.
Before today’s announcement, the CEO of WCE Holdings, Lundon Alfred Felix said in an interview that WCE is already 96% finished and should be fully completed within the next two years. The company aims to open the WCE Section 2 by Q3 2025 which will link SKVE to Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS).
