Good news to all of you who send streaks to your friends on Snapchat with an iPad, as Snapchat has finally offered native app support for Apple’s tablet. This is taking place 13 years after the Snapchat app was first launched on the iPhone.
Wait, wasn’t there already a Snapchat app for the iPad?
Well yes, you were able to download the Snapchat app on your iPad via the App Store. However, that version of the app wasn’t exactly made for the iPad, but instead for the iPhone. Due to the app not being optimised for the big screen, it was left with huge chunks of black borders, making it not as fun for you to play with filters and flick through your friends’ stories.
Although the iPad-optimised Snapchat app now fills up all of the available space on your iPad’s screen, it only supports portrait mode, which means the app won’t rotate when you tilt your device. The app is also only available for devices running iPadOS 13.0 or later.
The only question left to ask right now is whether Instagram will finally be willing to build a native app for the iPad.
