Report: Samsung to bring Galaxy AI to its 2024 A-series phones, these are the models to get it

Since the debut of Samsung’s Galaxy AI, it has thus far reached the brand’s latest flagship phones, such as the Galaxy S24 Series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. Now, it seems like some of Samsung’s mid-range 2024 Galaxy A Series models may also get Galaxy AI, according to a report by SamMobile.

Samsung Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 rumoured to get Galaxy AI

Galaxy AI is rumoured to come to a couple of Samsung’s mid-range A-series models, namely the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55, which have already been released earlier this year. This will mark the first time Galaxy AI is equipped with Samsung’s mid-range devices.

It is also said that Galaxy AI will reach these mid-range Samsung Galaxy models via the One UI 6.1.1 update. However, it is unsure when this will take place just yet.

Don’t expect the full suite of Galaxy AI features though

The addition of Galaxy AI to the Samsung Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 is certainly good news for users or potential buyers of mid-range phones. However, don’t expect them to get the full-fledged Galaxy AI suite the recent Samsung flagships have gotten.

It is not specified which Galaxy AI will make it and which will be dropped for the Samsung mid-range devices, but it is very much possible that Samsung will leave out features that require more processing power so that the mid-range phones can still carry out those AI features in a smooth fashion.

For context, the Samsung Galaxy A35 in Malaysia runs on the brand’s Exynos 1380 processor, while the Galaxy A55 gets a slightly more powerful Exynos 1480 chip. Those are then paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for the Galaxy A35, and up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for the Galaxy A55.

If you want to experience Galaxy AI right now with the least amount of money, the cheapest Samsung Galaxy device you can get that comes with the AI suite is the Galaxy S23 FE. It sports most of the Galaxy AI features that come with the Galaxy S24 series, except for things like Instant Slow-Mo.
