We recently received confirmation from a major retailer that Google Pixel smartphones will be heading to Malaysia soon. That being said Google Malaysia did not make any announcement regarding it but that has changed today.
Google Malaysia earlier today published a Pixel 9 Pro teaser video on its X and YouTube accounts. It is essentially the same video that Made by Google division published on 19 July to officially show off the Pixel 9 Pro’s design for the first time.
However, there is one tiny difference. The teaser video from Made by Google listed the launch date as 13 August but the video published by Google Malaysia said 14 August which means that the date was likely edited to suit Malaysian viewers.
Maybe it’s just a generic teaser for the Pixel 9’s global launch event?
There is a possibility that the teaser is just Google Malaysia’s way to help support the upcoming Pixel 9 series launch event. That being said though, the company previously has never promoted Pixel products or Pixel-related events except for Google I/O.
On the other hand, Google still hasn’t listed Malaysia as one of the official markets for the online Google Store. Nevertheless, the new video is the closest that we have to a Pixel-related announcement from Google Malaysia so far.
Meanwhile, expect further announcements regarding Pixel 9 devices at the upcoming launch event which will take place on 14 August at 1:00 AM Malaysian time.
