Oppo Malaysia has officially launched the Reno 12 series in Malaysia. The Reno 12 and the Reno 12 Pro boast new photography experiences with Generative AI and are running on a mobile platform developed exclusively by MediaTek and Oppo.
As you would expect from a Reno series, the new smartphones also feature a unique rear design which gives a 3D illusion of a rippling water effect.
Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro Malaysia Pricing and Promo
The Oppo Reno 12 and 12 Pro are now available and here’s the official pricing in Malaysia:
- Oppo Reno 12 12GB RAM + 512GB – RM2,199
- Oppo Reno 12 Pro 12GB RAM + 512GB – RM2,599
Both smartphones are now available and you can purchase it online via the official Oppo store on Lazada and Shopee.
As part of its launch promo which is running until 31st July 2024, Oppo is giving away freebies valued up to RM1,848. This includes the Value Assurance Upgrade Plan that guarantees the phone’s trade-in value (Oppo Reno 12 – RM1,100, Reno 12 Pro – RM1,300) when you upgrade to any future Reno generation smartphone.
Oppo Reno 12 Pro Specs
The Oppo Reno 12 Pro features a 6.7″ 120Hz Full HD+ AMOLED screen that’s curved on all four edges. It boasts a maximum brightness of 1200 nits and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Under the hood, it runs on a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy for Reno mated to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
For taking pictures, it gets a triple-camera setup that consists of a 50MP main camera with Sony LYT-600 sensor, a 50MP telephoto camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. Upfront, the device has a 50MP selfie shooter that sits in a punch-hole on the display.
To elevate your photography experience, Oppo is bringing more Generative AI features including AI Eraser to remove unwanted objects, AI Studio to create digital avatars of yourself and AI Clear Face which gives everyone in the group shot a makeover.
The Oppo Reno 12 Pro gets a 5,000mAh battery which supports 80V SuperVOOC fast charging via USB-C. The Reno 12 Pro comes in two colours – Space Brown and Nebula Silver.
Oppo Reno 12 Specs
The standard Reno 12 is the more affordable sibling that comes with a couple of differences. It still gets a 6.7″ 120Hz AMOLED display but it gets a dual-curve design. The screen also boasts a maximum brightness of 1200 nits and it is protected by Gorilla Glas 7i.
Under the hood, it also runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy for Reno with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage. However, the camera is a slight notch below its Pro version. It still features 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens but the third camera is a 2MP macro shooter. Meanwhile, the selfie camera uses a 32MP shooter.
The Oppo Reno 12 also gets a 5,000mAh battery and supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.
