Besides the Poco F6 Pro, the Xiaomi independent brand has also announced the Poco F6 which offers flagship-class performance at mid-range smartphone prices. The Poco F6 is also the first smartphone to launch in Malaysia with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, which was announced just a few months ago.
Poco F6 Malaysia Price
The Poco F6 comes in two RAM and storage variants and here’s the official pricing:
- Poco F6 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM1,799
- Poco F6 12GB RAM + 512GB storage – RM1,999
As part of Poco Malaysia’s early bird promo that runs from 23rd to 31st May 2024, you can get the Poco F6 256GB for only RM1,559 (save RM240), while the 512GB version can be yours for RM1,699 (Save RM300).
The Poco F6 is available in 3 colours – Green, Titanium and Black, and you can order it from Shopee and the Mi.com online store.
Poco F6 Malaysia Specs
The Poco F6 comes with a 6.67″ “CrystalRes 1.5K Flow” display which uses an AMOLED panel that supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 2160Hz. It boasts a peak brightness of up to 2400 nits (1000-1200 nits in High Brightness) and a 1920Hz PWM dimming rate.
The Poco F6 also gets Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for better screen durability and the device gets an IP64-rated dust and water resistance which is makes it more splash resistant.
The F6 runs on a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip built on a similar 4nm TSMC process as the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The 8s Gen 3 uses the same Cortex-X4 prime core as the 8 Gen 3 but it is clocked slightly lower at 3.0GHz. Other differences include a different performance and efficiency core layout with four Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.8GHz and three Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.
The device can be configure with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
For the very first time on a Poco device, it also offers air gesture recognition with Smart sensing AON. The feature allows you to control your music, answer phone calls or scroll through pages by moving your hand in front of the selfie camera.
For taking pictures, the Poco F6 gets a simpler dual-camera setup that consists of a 50MP f/1.6 main camera (Sony IMX882) with OIS and a 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. For selfies, the device gets a 20MP f/2.2 front camera housed in a punch hole on the display. Similar to the F6 Pro, it still gets Dual Speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certification.
Powering the Poco F6 is a 5,000mAh battery and it supports up to 90W of turbo charging via USB-C. According to Poco, it takes 35 minutes to charge this device to 100% and the 90W charger is included in the box.
