Just in time for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage season, Maxis has unveiled the new Saudi Premium Data Pass. Available only until the end of June 2024, this pass provides Maxis postpaid customers with access to unlimited roaming data in Saudi Arabia for over a month.
Unlimited data roaming in Saudi Arabia for under RM100
Through the Saudi Premium Data Pass from Maxis, customers can utilise high-speed data for 45 days in Saudi Arabia for just RM99. As a comparison, a normal 15-day data roaming pass already costs RM89.
The new pass can be obtained through the Maxis app, Maxis Care Portal, and Easy Menu *100#. Customers also have the option to schedule the activation in advance for up to 14 days through the Maxis app.
The pass does come with a daily FUP limit though
To utilise the Saudi Premium Data Pass, customers also must make sure their phones are connected to STC’s mobile network during their time in Saudi Arabia. At the same time, this roaming data pass is still subjected to a Fair Use Policy (FUP) quota.
Specifically, the pass comes with a daily quota of 2GB. If customers exceed this quota, their Internet speed would then be capped at 1Mbps which is still enough for instant messaging and video streaming at standard definition.
They then have to wait until 7:00 PM Saudi time (12:00 AM Malaysian time) for the daily quota to be reset.
