BJAK road tax renewal service is here to stay. The online insurance aggregator has confirmed this in a brief statement on its social media pages.
BJAK road tax renewal service is now free of charge
In what was essentially a response to the remark made by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), the statement also pointed out that its road tax renewal service is an optional offering. In addition to that, the company is now offering it for free.
Prior to this, BJAK said that any charges were “passed on” to official JPJ providers. The company also pointed out that other platforms usually charge their customers from RM3.00 to RM11.00 for road tax renewal services.
The company acknowledged the issues raised by JPJ
In the same statement, the aggregator has also said that it acknowledged all the issues that were highlighted by JPJ yesterday. In case you missed it, the authority has noted several complaints from BJAK’s customers including the additional fee.
For some customers, their road tax expiry date was not updated even though after renewal has been made through BJAK’s website. On this particular subject, BJAK said that its road tax renewal service is “operating smoothly” without elaborating further.
However, the statement did not say whether the company has received direct authorisation from JPJ to provide road tax renewal service to the public. At the moment, JPJ only has three official external business partners that have been authorised to provide such service including Pos Malaysia, MyEG, and Puspakom.
