Shortly after announcing price cuts for the 2023 models, Sime Darby Motors officially announced the BYD Atto 3 2024 models for Malaysia. Interestingly, the updated fully electric SUV now only comes in a single Standard Range variant and it still retains the same price tag as the pre-updated model.
BYD Atto 3 2024 Malaysia Price
The BYD Atto 3 2024 in Standard Range form is officially priced at RM149,800 for Peninsular Malaysia. With the registration and other applicable fees included, the On-The-Road price is RM150,430 excluding insurance. In East Malaysia, the Atto 3 2024 is going for RM153,300 or RM153,930 for the OTR price without insurance.
So far we still don’t know if an Extended Range model for 2024 will be announced soon. As a reference, the previous BYD Atto 3 Extended Range model is priced at RM167,800 and the larger 60.5kWh battery provides a longer WLTP-rated range of 420km on a single charge, and it also supports a slightly higher 80kW of DC fast charging.
BYD Atto 3 2024 Malaysia Specs
The overall design and underpinnings of the BYD Atto 3 remain mostly unchanged for 2024. It does come with several aesthetic changes which include new interior and exterior colour options. The new standard range model now gets a couple of “Extended Range” features at no extra charge and there’s also a huge upgrade when it comes to the infotainment system.
Similar to the BYD Seal, the BYD Atto 3 no longer has the long “Build Your Dreams” badge on the back and it now settles for a simplified “BYD” which looks much cleaner. The previously light-coloured “back fin” element on the D-pillar now comes in Black and you can now buy the new Atto 3 2024 in Cosmos Black, which is the same glossy black option offered for the BYD Seal.
The Standard Range Atto 3 2024 still runs on 17″ wheels with 215/60 R17 tyres. However, it isn’t clear if Sime Darby Motors is still using Atlas Batman A51 tyres on the new Atto 3.
For the interior, you now have a new choice of “Black-Dark Blue” which joins the existing Dark Blue-Light Grey interior colour scheme. However, take note that the interior is subject to the exterior colour option. The new Black + Dark Blue interior is available for Boulder Grey and Cosmos Black, while the existing Dark Blue + Light Grey option is available for Surf Blue and Ski White only.
The previous 12.8″ rotating infotainment screen is now upgraded to a larger 15.6″ unit found on the BYD Seal. This provides a larger viewing experience and it also supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Despite being a Standard Range model, it also gets a wireless charging pad for your phone and it also gets multi-colour gradient ambient lighting.
Similar to before, it only gets 6-speakers as opposed to an 8-speaker setup for the Extended Range model. It still retains a rather small 5″ instrument cluster and also a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of performance, the Atto 3 2024 retains a similar single motor upfront that delivers 201hp and 310Nm of torque. It can get from 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds and the 49.9kWh LFP battery is rated to provide up to 345km of WLTP-rated range on a single charger.
For charging, it supports a single-phase 7KW AC charging and up to 70kW for DC charging. If you need to power other home appliances, it also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. The BYD Atto 3 2024 also comes with a comprehensive warranty package which includes 6 years or 150,000km vehicle warranty, 8 years or 160,000km battery warranty and 8 years of 150,000km or 150,000km drive unit warranty.
