DC Handal has been pretty busy in the past week as they have switched on multiple EV charging locations in Peninsular Malaysia. Besides WCE Assam Jawa Toll Plaza, Hentian Gua Musang and IOI City Mall, the charge point operator has also deployed a 200kW DC charging site at Johor Premium Outlets (JPO) in Kulai.
DC Handal’s Johor Premium Outlets location features a Kempower DC charger with four CCS2 satellite terminals at the open-air carpark. This is a similar setup to its Bamboo Hills location except that there’s no roof covering the charging bays. This is the first DC charger at the outlet shopping centre as the other chargers deployed by ChargEV are two 3.7kW AC charge points.
The DC charging setup features dynamic power sharing which can output up to a maximum of 200kW per nozzle when only one EV is plugged in. If more EVs are plugged in, the 200kW capacity will be distributed dynamically.
These high power DC chargers are priced at RM1.50 per kWh. Like all DC Handal charging sites, this EV charger accepts contactless payments including your physical credit or debit card. It also accepts Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay. If you’re using debit or prepaid cards, do note that there’s a RM50 pre-authorisation fee required.
Alternatively, you can activate the chargers via charging apps including ChargEV.
DC Handal now has over 60 charge points in 6 months
With the latest deployment, DC Handal has over 60 charge points which uses either Kempower or Autel chargers. It currently has 10 locations in the Klang Valley, three in Johor, three in Penang and one each in Kelantan and Melaka.
Interestingly, despite its name, DC Handal has recently deployed two AC charge points at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya which are priced at RM1.00 per kWh.
