Earlier this year, Nothing announced their new midrange Phone (2a) and along with it also teased their new accessories under their CMF sub-brand. These devices, the CMF Buds and CMF Neckband Pro, are now officially in Malaysia, with the two offering a fair bit of features despite being placed in the ‘cheaper’ CMF brand.
CMF Buds and Neckband Pro Malaysia pricing and availability
For those of you keen on picking up a new pair of wireless earbuds or neckband headphones, the CMF Buds and CMF Neckband Pro are now already available for sale in Malaysia. You can find them on sale on the official Nothing store on Lazada and Shopee at the following prices:
- CMF Buds – RM199
- CMF Neckband Pro – RM189
CMF Buds features
The CMF Buds is essentially the cheaper version of the previous CMF Buds Pro that debuted back in September last year. This time around, they come with a squared off charging case rather than the circular one on the Buds Pro. You’ll also find a circular dial-like knob on the upper left corner, but unfortunately you can’t use it to control the audio volume. Instead, it’s more of an accessory on the CMF Buds that you can attach a lanyard to.
As for the earbuds themselves, they are 12.4mm bio-fibre drivers that CMF says come with enhanced acoustic components and ‘Ultra Bass Technology 2.0’ which will supposedly offer a more expansive soundscape, deep bass, balanced mids and an ethereal treble. They also feature active noise cancellation (ANC) with 42dB depth and an up to 2900Hz bandwidth that CMF calls the best-in-class within the price segment. You’ll also find a transparency mode, four HD mics with Clear Voice Technology, a wind noise reduction algorithm and Dirac Opteo support with five EQ presets to fit your music style.
The CMF Buds come with a 45mAh battery in each bud, with the charging case also packing its own 460mAh battery. offer an up to 8 hour non-stop playback on a single charge, with the charging case providing a total playback time of 35.5 hours. Even when it’s out of juice, a ten minute charge should offer you a further 6.5 hours of playback. Other features of note include an IP54 dust and water resistance rating, a Low Lag Mode for gaming, and comes in your choice of orange, black and white.
CMF Neckband Pro features
As its name suggests, the CMF Neckband Pro isn’t a pair of true wireless earbuds, but are instead neckband-style earbuds meant for more people to use while running and working out. CMF says that users will be able to use the 3-in-1 smart dial on the right side of the neckband to easily adjust volume, play/pause and skip tracks, as well as to control the level of Active Noise Cancellation of up to 50dB with a simple spin or press of the button. An IP55 dust and water resistance rating meanwhile lets you comfortably use it despite sweating.
On top of that, each bud packs a 13.6mm composite diaphragm drivers with a 0.27cc chamber on the back that would enhance bass depth with little distortions. Also present is Ultra Bass Technology 2.0 with five EQ presets in the Nothing X app, as well as a spatial audio effect. The Neckband Pro is powered by a 220mAh battery offering up to 37 hours of non-stop playback, with just a 10 minute charge getting you 18 hours with ANC off.
