After previewing it to consumers a month ago, SAIC Motor officially launched the MG ZS EV in Malaysia today. Together with the MG4, these electric vehicles marked the return of the British marquee to our market.
MG ZS EV Malaysia pricing, colourway, warranty, early bird offer
The MG ZS EV can now be obtained in Malaysia for RM125,999. The EV comes in four colour options including Arctic White, Black Pearl, Dynamic Red, and Monument Silver.
Meanwhile, the MG ZS EV comes standard with a 7-year/150,000km warranty for the vehicle alone. There is also a separate 8-year/180,000km warranty for the EV’s high-voltage battery and SAIC Motor Malaysia also offers 1-to-1 battery exchange if its state of health goes under 70% during the warranty period.
As part of the launch, ZS EV customers will receive a free 7kW home wallbox charger inclusive of installation. However, do note that this offer is valid until the end of April 2024.
MG ZS EV Malaysia quick specs
SAIC Motor brings only one variant of MG ZS EV in Malaysia. Unlike the MG4 which comes with RWD and AWD setups, the ZS EV is purely a front-wheel drive (FWD) model.
Equipped with a single 130kW (174hp) motor, it also produces 280Nm of torque. This allows the compact SUV to go from 0 to 100km/h in 8 seconds alongside a maximum speed of 170km/h.
The MG ZS EV is powered by a 51.1kWh battery pack which allows it to deliver a WLTP-rated range of 320km. While MG4 can support DC fast charging of up to 150kW, this model is limited to just 50kW although MG ZS EV’s AC charging support is still similar to its hatchback sibling at 7kW.
