Honor has finally updated their mainstream Honor Pad series with a new entry, the Honor Pad 9. This new midrange tablet offers plenty to like with a fairly large, high resolution display, solid speakers and a hefty battery to keep the lights on.
Honor Pad 9 Malaysia pricing and availability
The Honor Pad 9 is available in both a WiFi-only version, or one with both 5G and WiFi support. However, the Honor Pad 9 with 5G connectivity is only coming to our shores on 19 April, while the WiFi-only version is priced at RM1,499 and will go on sale from 28 March onwards.
Early birds will get free gifts worth up to RM698 too while stocks last, which include an Honor Pad 9 Smart Bluetooth Keyboard and Honor Choice Pencil.
Honor Pad 9 specs
The Honor Pad 9 is a fairly large tablet, sporting a 12.1-inch, IPS LCD display with a 2560 x 1600p resolution for a pretty decent 249ppi pixel density. The display is also capable of a 120Hz refresh rate, with an 88% screen-to-body ratio and 1.07 billion colours. Under the hood, you’ll find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 system-on-chip, mated to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage running Android 13 out of the box, skinned with Magic OS 7.2 over it.
Other features of note here include an eight speaker setup, as well as a large 8,300mAh battery with 35W SuperCharge wired fast charging—Honor claims an up to 11 hours of local video playback on the Honor Pad 9. There’s also a 13MP, f/2.0 rear camera on the back in a circular camera bump, though you’ll likely use the 8MP, f/2.2 selfie camera more especially for video calls and conferencing. You’ll find support for WiFI 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 here on the WiFI-only model, with the 5G one adding, well, 5G support.
The Honor Pad 9 measures just 6.9mm thin and weighs 555g, and will be available in Cyan Lake and Space Grey colour options.
