MSI has launched several new QD-OLED gaming monitors in Malaysia. Available already via their distributor SunCycle Sdn Bhd, these new gaming monitors are a bit on the high side in terms of pricing, but for anyone looking to complement their end game desktop setup with the latest and greatest displays they could be well worth a look.
Starting off then with the biggest new MSI monitor—both in terms of size and price tag—we have the MSI MAG 491CQP QD-OLED, priced at RM6,499. This gargantuan display is a 49-inch, 32:9 super ultrawide QD-OLED panel pushing a DQHD 5120x1440p resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 0.03ms response time as well as an 1800R curve to go along with it. You’ll also find it capable of 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and 98% of the Adobe RGB, along with a typical brightness of 250nits and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. For I/O there’s a DisplayPort 1.4a out, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB-C port with 90W output, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-B 2.0 port and a headphone out port.
Moving slightly down the size chart, we have the MSI MAG 341CQP QD-OLED going for RM4,799. This is a 34-inch, 21:9 QD-OLED ultrawide with an 1800R curve and a UWQHD 3440x1440p resolution, a 175Hz refresh rate along with a 0.03ms response time. With a typical brightness of 250nits, HDR brightness of 1,000nits and DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, this 34-incher also covers 99.3% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. There’s also a DisplayPort 1.4a output, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB-C port with 15W output, two USB-A 2.0 ports, a USB-B 2.0 port and a headphone out port.
If you prefer a regular 16:9 aspect ratio though, then we have the 32-inch, MSI MAG 321UPX QD-OLED and the 27-inch MSI MAG 271QPX, priced at RM6,099 and RM4,299 respectively. The former has a 4K UHD resolution while the latter has a WQHD 1440p resolution instead, though smaller one does have a faster 360Hz refresh rate compared to the larger one’s 240Hz refresh rate. Both displays share the same I/O has the aforementioned MAG 341CQP, and share the same 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut too, along with a 0.03ms response time, 250nits typical brightness and DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.
Oh, one last thing: all four monitors feature MSI’s new OLED Care 2.0, with features such as boundary detection, logo detection, taskbar detection and pixel shifting, all of which play a role in preventing burn in from happening on your admittedly pricey gaming monitor. You can find them on sale at the MSI official store on Shopee as well as Sun Cycle’s partners which you can find here.
