The Vivo V30 Pro comes with a large 6.78-inch AMOLED display, pushing a 2800 x 1260p resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and has slight curves on both the left and right sides. For better drop resistance, Vivo has kitted out the display with a layer of Schott α glass while over the rear camera module a layer of 2.5D glass lens and raised metal bezels provide extra protection.
Under the hood, the Vivo V30 Pro features a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 system-on-chip, mated to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Keeping it all cool is an Ultra Large Smart Cooling System with a large 3002mm2 vapour chamber. It runs Android 14 out of the box, skinned with FuntouchOS 14 over it and from what we gather Vivo is guaranteeing only two major Android OS upgrades and three years of security patches for the V30 Pro.
In the camera department, the V30 Pro is features the Zeiss branding on the back, with Zeiss optics and Zeiss style portrait modes. As for the hardware itself, it’s a main 50MP, f/1.88 camera using the Sony IMX920 image sensor flanked by a 50MP, f/1.85 portrait camera with 2x optical zoom and a 50MP, f/2.0 ultrawide shooter. Below the camera bump, you’ll also find the rear Aura Light 3.0 that Vivo claims will offer better lighting when taking photos and portraits. The front camera meanwhile is yet another 50MP, f/2.0 shooter.
Other features of note here include a 5,000mAh battery with support for 80W FlashCharge fast charging that can get it to 100% in just 48 minutes; the V30 Pro also claims to be the thinnest phone ever with a 5,000mAh battery at 7.45mm thin. No stereo speakers here, but the Vivo V30 Pro does come with an IP54 dust and water resistance rating, an in-display fingerprint sensor and support for 5G, NFC, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity.
