Xiaomi 14 Ultra specs
It’s hard to talk about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra without starting with the cameras, because it really does grab your attention at first glance, in no small part thanks to the giant circular camera bump on the back. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is their latest smartphone co-engineered with Leica, resulting in its new Leica Vario-Summilux 1:1.63-2.5/12-120 ASPH lenses, with four 50MP rear cameras. The first of those is its main 50MP camera using the new 1-inch, Sony LYT-900 image sensor with Dual Native ISO Fusion Max technology for a 14EV dynamic range. It also features a f/1.63-f/4.0 stepless variable aperture with 0.01-stop increments in Pro Mode.
As for the other three rear cameras, they all use the Sony IMX858 image sensor. The first of these is a 50MP, f/1.8 floating telephoto shooter offering a 3.2x optical zoom equivalent to a 75mm lens. Next to that is a 50MP, f/2.5 periscope telephoto camera offering a 5x optical zoom equivalent to a 120mm shot. The final rear camera here is a 50MP, f/1.8 ultrawide camera for a 12mm equivalent shot. You’ll also be able to use each of these three cameras in their own macro modes in 10cm, 30cm and 5cm distances respectively. As for its front-facing camera, you’ll find a 32MP, f/2.0 camera for your selfies.
With the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, you’ll also find plenty of software tools to assist you when you’re out and about taking photos. These include the Leica photographic styles, Leica filters and the Master Lens portrait system offering various portrait styles. There’s also support for up to 8K 30fps video on all four rear cameras, as well as 10-bit log video recording. Oh, and then there’s an optional Xiaomi 14 Ultra Photography Kit too, letting you add a dedicated grip to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra along with a zoom lever, two-stage shutter button and custom dials.
On top of that, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra features a large 6.73-inch AMOLED display with a WQHD+ resolution. The panel offers a 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and a peak brightness of 3,000nits, 400nits more than the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. There’s also a layer of its own Xiaomi Shield Glass here for improved drop resistance compared to its predecessor’s Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, as well as being built with an aluminium frame crafted from a single block for up to 1.38x improved frame strength. Xiaomi calls this display an All Around Liquid Display too, essentially meaning it has a slight curve on all four sides and corners.
Powering the Xiaomi 14 Ultra meanwhile is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 system-on-chip, with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFFS 4.0 storage. Xiaomi has also kitted it with a new XIaomi Dual-Channel IceLoop cooling system that not only cools the silicon but also has a dedicated thermal loop for the camera modules. It comes with Android 14 out of the box, skinned with their new HyperOS over it. Xiaomi is guaranteeing a minimum of four major Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches too.
Other features of note include a 5,000mAh battery with support for 90W wired fast charging, 80W wireless fast charging as well as reverse wireless charging. Xiaomi says that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be able to go from zero to 50% in just 18 minutes via wired charging, and to 100% in just 46 minutes with just its wireless charging. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra also comes with stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, an IP68 dust and water resistance rating as well as support for 5G, NFC, WiFI 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless connectivity. You’ll be able to get the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in either Black or White colour options.
