Gentari x JomCharge EV Chargers at Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens are now online

After over 6 months of waiting, the EV chargers at Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall deployed by Gentari and JomCharge are finally online. However, only the AC charge points are available as the respective DC chargers are still wrapped up. This brings the total of AC charge points in the vicinity to 7 including the existing three charge points by ChargEV.

As reported previously, Gentari and JomCharge have deployed a mini EV charging hub consisting of two 11kW AC charge points and one 50kW DC charge point located at the basement carparks for both malls. Similar to the Suria KLCC chargers, these EV chargers are priced by time but at a more affordable rate.

Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall EV charging rates

The AC chargers which can deliver up to 11kW each are priced at RM0.10 per minute (RM6 per hour). If you can get the maximum 11kW rate and receive approximately 11kWh in an hour, that’s roughly RM0.55 per kWh.

However, if your EV uses a single-phase on-board charger like the BYD Dolphin, BYD Atto 3, BYD Seal or Ora Good Cat, you would only get about 3.3kW from these chargers. Assuming you could get 3.5kWh in an hour, that’s effectively RM1.70 per kWh

Users with Genteri Annual Membership can enjoy 50% off for these chargers. With the membership applied, it would only cost you RM0.05 per minute (RM3 per hour). These chargers can be activated via JomCharge, Gentari Go and ChargEV apps. If you have poor mobile reception in the basement carpark, both locations are provided with free WiFi so that you can activate your EV charging session. The WiFi SSID and password are printed on the charger.

EV Charger locations at Mid Valley Megamall, The Gardens Mall and Southpoint

If you’re heading to Mid Valley Megamall, the Gentari x JomCharge EV chargers are located at Level P2 near Pillar A43. You can enter the area directly from the Zone A entrance.

Meanwhile, if you’re heading to The Gardens Mall, the Gentari x JomCharge EV chargers are located at Level P2, near Pillar B60a (Isetan side). It is also worth pointing out that there are 6x 22kW AC chargers deployed at The Gardens Mall’s Level 4 Premium carpark but they are not yet available.

Alternatively, there’s another EV charging location located at the adjacent building which is connected to Mid Valley Megamall. Located at Level B1 (near Pillar 13) of Menara Southpoint, ChargEV has deployed 3x 11kW AC charge points which are priced at RM0.80 per kWh.
