Reports are circulating that Apple is set to release new iPads and Macs sometime this week. According to Macrumors, the new products will be released straight to market, without any accompanying online event planned. The website said that Apple “plans to announce new products with press releases on its website this week.” This will be one of the rare occasions that Apple will be releasing major products without an online event.
The timeline syncs with what Mark Gruman of Bloomberg said last year – he said that Apple is set to launch new products sometime in March or April. He then reiterated in his newsletter that several products will be launched within this month, even though there will be no online events planned.
Several new Apple iPads and the revamped MacBook Air will be launched
The expected products will be:
- New iPad Pro with OLED displays
- New iPad Airs, including the verst 12.9-inch iPad Air
- New M3 MacBook Air
- Accessories include a new Apple Pencil and Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro line
Gruman says to treat the launch as a significant launch as the list of new products includes a revamp to the iPad Pro lineup after nearly six years, the first iPad to launch with an OLED screen and the first mid-tier tablet from Apple with a 12.9-inch display.
Apple’s most popular computer – the MacBook Air – getting the new M3 chip is also a big deal as the whole Apple laptop family will soon have the same SoC family on board. The biggest question is if Apple will address any thermal problems and complications as it will be putting the powerful M3 chip into a fanless laptop.
