Realme has finally launched their new premium midrange smartphone in Malaysia, the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G. Sporting a large curved OLED display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip and some impressive-looking cameras on the back, the Realme 12 Pro+ is the latest to enter the increasingly competitive upper midrange segment.

The Realme 12 Pro+ 5G will be available from 1 March onwards in two configurations with the following recommended retail prices:
- Realme 12 Pro+ 5G, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage – RM1,799
- Realme 12 Pro+ 5G, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage – RM2,099
As part of their launch sales, from 1 March till 14 March the base model Realme 12 Pro+ will be available for just RM1,699. Furthermore, during the 3.3 sales, it will be getting a further RM100 discount when you get it from the official Realme store on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok, down to RM1,599.
The 512GB Realme 12 Pro+ meanwhile will come with a free pair of Techlife X60 earbuds, a Techlife T17C smartwatch and extended warranty from 1 March till 14 March.
Realme 12 Pro+ 5G specs
The Realme 12 Pro+ 5G may be an upper midrange smartphone, but it certainly looks more premium than that, thanks to its vegan leather back and golden fluted circular camera bump on the back that was apparently inspired by classic luxury watches. Flip it around and you’ll find a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display, pushing an FHD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, a peak brightness of 950nits as well as 2160Hz PWM dimming allowing it to be easier on the eyes.
Under the hood, you’ll find the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 system-on-chip, mated to up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Keeping it all cool meanwhile is a 3D vapour chamber cooling system. The Realme 12 Pro+ 5G also comes with Android 14 out of the box, skinned with Realme UI 5.0 over it.
It’s in the camera department though where the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G stands out, with a main 50MP, f/1.8 camera using the 1/1.56″ Sony IMX890 image sensor alongside an 8MP, f/2.2 ultrawide shooter and a 64MP, f/2.8 telephoto shooter using the 1/2″ OmniVision OV64B image sensor. That last camera in particular allows for a 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom and up to a 120x digital zoom. Rounding things off is a 32MP, f/2.4 front-facing camera to handle all your selfies.
Elsewhere, the Realme 12 Pro+ 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W SuperVOOC fast charging that can get you from 1% to 50% in just 19 minutes. You’ll also find an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers and an IP65 dust and water resistance rating, along with support for 5G, WiFI 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connectivity.
