If you’re a fan of the Kung Fu Panda franchise and can’t wait for the movie to hit cinemas this 8 March 2024, you can now go on a ride with the Dragon Warrior himself, thanks to a collaboration between Waze and Dreamworks. The navigation app has announced that Wazers can select Po to be their guiding voice as they use the app for directions while driving.
When you select Po as your guide, the bumbling panda will not only get you through the rush hour KL traffic but also help offer wisdom and maintain your mindfulness with prompts such as “Today we shall love our fellow road users as family. Even if they cut us off. Or don’t let us merge. Or never signal! Aaaaaaaargh that drives me so crazy but we shall love them anyway. Or at least try to.“
Furthermore, you can change your boring old car icon into the more adorable Panda Van icon, and even select a ‘Spiritual Mood’ to tell other Wazers stuck in traffic with you that you’re on your journey to enlightenment. Po is already on Waze now for both iOS and Android users, so if you don’t see him as an option just yet you may need to first update your app.
Once you’ve updated your app, simply launch Waze and at your home page open the settings tab by hitting the button on the top left. There, you should be able to see a pop up below telling you that Master Po is now available for voice directions. Click on that and then you’ll be able to turn on Po’s voice, the Panda Van car icon and the Spiritual Mood for your Waze.
