In December 2022, TNG Digital introduced its Touch ‘n Go eWallet Soundbox set, allowing merchants to get audible confirmation when a successful DuitNow QR or TNG eWallet QR transaction is made. The Soundbox can help prevent QR fraud as merchants and their staff can hear and see all incoming payments without having to check their phones or customers’ digital receipts. Previously offered as a one-off purchase, TNG Digital is now offering the solution on a monthly subscription model, starting from RM10/month.
How to subscribe to TNG eWallet Soundbox
The TNG eWallet Soundbox is powered by USB-C and there are two set options. The SIM card bundle is offered for RM18/month while the non-SIM bundle is offered for RM10/month. You can use the Soundbox without a SIM card as it can connect to a WiFi network. Alternatively, you can pop in your own SIM card with an active data plan.
If you’re a TNG eWallet merchant, you can order your Soundbox via the Merchant Dashboard. Whichever option you pick, there’s an upfront payment of RM60 and the subscription period is 24 months. From the looks of it, there will be additional shipping fees.
Previously, the Soundbox was priced at RM260 outright and they offered it at a promo price of only RM59.50. For those who need SIM connectivity, the SIM bundle was offered for RM139.50 with a 12-month SIM plan.
TNG eWallet Soundbox can protect merchants from payment scams

When a transaction is made, the Soundbox will announce the amount received, which reduces the hassle for merchants in their daily operations, especially during busy hours.
