Samsung Malaysia has announced the arrival of two new, massive gaming monitors to Malaysia, the 55-inch Odyssey Ark 2 G97NC and the 49-inch, super ultrawide Odyssey G9 G95C. As part of the launch of the two giant monitors, Samsung is also having a pre-order promotion that knocks off up to RM5,700 from the price tag.
Samsung Odyssey Ark 2 and Odyssey G9 Malaysia pricing and availability
The Odyssey Ark 2 will come with a recommended retail price of RM13,999 while the Odyssey G9 comes with a RRP of RM5,999. From now till the 18th of February though, Samsung is having an exclusive online launch promotion for both monitors on the Samsung Malaysia website.
For the Odyssey Ark 2, Samsung is giving it a RM5,000 discount, bringing the price down to RM8,999. On top of that, you can get up to RM700 off too by trading in your old TV or monitor too, for a total of up to RM5,700 off the Odyssey Ark 2. As for the Odyssey G9, you’ll be able to get it for just RM4,799, a RM1,200 discount as well as up to RM500 off if you trade in your old display.
Samsung Odyssey Ark 2 specs
The Odyssey Ark 2 is Samsung’s huge 55-inch, curved Quantum MiniLED VA display pushing a 4K resolution with a 1000R screen curvature. Capable of 600nits of brightness, the Odyssey Ark 2 also offers 1,056 local dimming zones, a 165Hz refresh rate, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a 1ms grey-to-grey response time.
You’ll be able to hook it up to four different inputs too with Samsung’s multi view feature, along with a portrait Cockpit mode by rotating it 90 degrees. There’s a 60W 2.2.2 channel six speaker setup too. Other features of note include support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, built-in Tizen operating system and for I/O, a DisplayPort 1.4 output, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a HDMI 2.0 port, audio out, a USB-C port and two more USB-A ports.
Samsung Odyssey G9 specs
As for the Odyssey G9, the 49-inch super ultrawide has been refreshed for this year, offering a 32:9, 5120 x 1440p resolution with a 1000R screen curvature. The VA panel is also capable of a 240Hz refresh rate, a 1ms grey-to-grey response time, with a typical brightness of 450nits and a 2500:1 contrast ratio. There’s also support for FreeSync Premium Pro and Samsung’s CoreSync lighting. For I/O meanwhile you get a DisplayPort 1.4 out, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and a USB 3.0 hub.
