OnePlus 12 quick specs
To match its flagship status, OnePlus has equipped the new smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Accompanying the premium-class chip are LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0-based internal storage.
The OnePlus 12 also features a 6.82-inch QHD+ ProXDR display with dynamic refresh rate capability of up to 120Hz and 2160Hz PWM dimming. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, it also has a maximum brightness level of 4500 nits in addition to the ability to support multiple HDR formats including HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, and Dolby Vision.
When it comes to photography, the OnePlus 12 relies on a tri-camera module that the brand co-developed with Hasselblad. It features a main camera that is equipped with a 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor, f/1.6 lens, and an optical image stabilisation system (OIS).
Aside from that, there is also an ultra-wide camera with a 48MP Sony IMX581 sensor and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera that features 3x optical zoom capability. For selfies, the OnePlus 12’s front camera comes equipped with a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor.
Completing the main hardware specifications of the IP65-rated phone is a 5,400mAh dual-cell battery. The OnePlus 12 supports SuperVOOC wired fast charging technology as well as 50W AirVOOC wireless fast charging.
OnePlus 12R quick specs
Unlike its higher-end sibling, the OnePlus 12R is running on the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. However, the device still features LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0-based internal storage.
Another factor that makes the OnePlus 12R different from the OnePlus 12 is the fact that it has a smaller 6.78-inch AMOLED ProXDR display. The phone’s native resolution is also slightly lower at 2780 x 1264 but the display still comes with 120Hz dynamic refresh rate and 4500 nits peak brightness as well as support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.
The easiest way to spot the OnePlus 12R is by checking out the rear camera module which has no Hasselblad branding on it. It still has a tri-camera setup though which includes a main camera with a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor, f/1.8 lens, and OIS.
The module also features an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera. Not to forget, there is also a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.4 lens for selfies.
Similar to the OnePlus 12, the OnePlus 12R also comes with a dual-cell battery albeit with a slightly higher total capacity of 5500mAh. The support for 100W SuperVOOC fast charging technology has been retained for the device but not the AirVOOC wireless fast charging.
