Aside from the Poco X6 and X6 Pro, the Xiaomi sub-brand has also launched a new midrange smartphone in Malaysia. The Poco M6 Pro—not to be confused with a similarly named 5G smartphone available only in India—is a 4G-only device priced at below RM1,000 yet still boasting a high end display.

Available exclusively on Shopee, the Poco M6 Pro will come in two configurations, which are:
- Poco M6 Pro, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage – RM999
- Poco M6 Pro, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage – RM1,199
As part of its launch though, you’ll be able to find the Poco M6 Pro on discount from now till the 18th of January, bringing the price down to as low as RM811.

Like we mentioned earlier, the Poco M6 Pro’s biggest strength appears to be with its display. Poco was quick to highlight the M6 Pro being the first in the Poco M-seires to come with Xiaomi’s ‘Flow AMOLED’ display for thinner bezels than their regular panels. Specifically, it’s a 6.67-inch, FHD+ Flow AMOLED display with an up to 120Hz refresh rate, a 2160Hz touch sampling rate, full coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio along with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for scratch resistance.
Under the hood though, you’ll find a Helio G99-Ultra, perhaps the most capable 4G-only system-on-chip from MediaTek. That gets mated to up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with expandable storage up to 1TB also an option. Alongside the Poco X6 series, the M6 Pro will also come with Xiaomi HyperOS preloaded.
Elsewhere, you’ll find a 64MP main camera flanked by an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro while up front is a 16MP selfie shooter. Keeping the lights on is a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging. There’s also an IR blaster, stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IP54 dust and water resistance rating.
