AMD was not the only one who decided to launch a new graphics card at CES 2024. NVIDIA has also joined the party with three new GeForce cards including the RTX 4080 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super, and RTX 4070 Super.

Immediately after the three RTX 40 Super Series graphics cards made their official debut, the official NVIDIA GeForce Malaysia’s website revealed the starting price for each card:

  • GeForce RTX 4080 Super – RM5,400
  • GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super – RM4,320
  • GeForce RTX 4070 Super – RM3,240

When it comes to release dates, the RTX 4070 Super will be made available in Malaysia first on 17 January. It will then be followed by the RTX 4070 Ti Super on 24 January while the RTX 4080 Super is expected to arrive by the end of the month.

According to the global announcement, plenty of manufacturers are already committed to releasing RTX 40 Super Series cards including Asus, Colorful, Gainward, Galax, Gigabyte, Inno3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY, and Zotac.

In case you are wondering whether these new GeForce cards are more expensive in Malaysia, the answer is unfortunately yes. Here’s the starting price for each of the RTX 40 Super Series cards in the US:

  • GeForce RTX 4080 Super – USD999 (~RM4,650)
  • GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super – USD799 (~RM3,719)
  • GeForce RTX 4070 Super – USD599 (~RM2,788)

With that, you are looking at differences between RM452 to RM750 depending on which RTX 40 Super Series card you prefer.

GeForce RTX 4080 Super is meant for 4K aficionados

In general, the RTX 40 Super Series are not targeting the owners of RTX 40 Series cards as the differences between them would not be that much. This is why you are seeing NVIDIA comparing the new RTX 40 Super cards against the much older RTX 30 and RTX 20 Series cards.

Designed to deliver a fully ray-traced gaming experience at 4K resolution, NVIDIA claimed that the new RTX 4080 Super card is already 1.4x faster than the RTX 3080 Ti without the DLSS Frame Generation feature being turned on. Once it is activated, the performance differences could be as high as 2x.

Unsurprisingly, the RTX 4080 Super is also much faster than the RTX 3080 Ti in productivity and creativity applications. Take Blender as an example: the new card can run the 3D application up to 70% faster than the RTX 3080 Ti.

Likewise, the RTX 4070 Ti Super is being compared to the RTX 3070 Ti. According to NVIDIA, the new card has no problem outperforming the older generation release in gaming with up to 1.6x faster performance and that figure could go as high as 2.5x if DLSS 3 is turned on.

As for the RTX 4070 Super, NVIDIA dubbed the card as a “super upgrade” when pitted against the RTX 3070 and RTX 2070. This is because the RTX 4070 can deliver more than 100 frames per second at 1440p in many game titles out there which is something that the two other cards are not able to achieve.

Not enough with that, the company also claimed that the RTX 4070 Super can provide better performance than the RTX 3090 while consuming less power. Once DLSS 3 is turned on, NVIDIA said that the RTX 4070 Super could go up to 1.5x faster than the RTX 3090 which is rather interesting given that it is the second most powerful card in the RTX 30 Series family.
