Budget phones are aplenty in the market, and more are coming into the Malaysian market by the day. Case in point, Samsung’s A-series phones. Designed for the more budget-conscious segment, the new Galaxy A15, A15 5G and A25 5G offer a good enough smartphone experience for not much money.

Samsung Galaxy A15, A15 5G and A25 5G features
The Samsung Galaxy A15 is the cheapest among the three models here – but it didn’t see any big cuts in features or functions. Powering the phone is the MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core processor. This processor does not have 5G support. If you need 5G, that is where the Galaxy A15 5G comes in. That phone is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 6100+, which has 5G support. The Galaxy A25 5G meanwhile uses the Exynos 1280 chip, which also has 5G support.
All three phones feature 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. For the screen, the A15 and A15 5G come with a Full HD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the A24 5G has the same resolution but a faster refresh rate at 120Hz. All three phones can be unlocked with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which doubles as the power button.
Imaging is handled by triple cameras on the back. For the A15 and A15 5G, the main camera is a 50MP camera, paired with a 5MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera – the same camera as the previous model. For the A25 5G meanwhile, users will get a similar 50MP main camera, a higher resolution 8MP ultra-wide camera and the same 2MP macro camera. Selfies are handled by a 13MP sensor for all models.
All three phones carry a 5,000mAh battery that can be fast charged using a 25W charger. You will have to buy the charger separately as Samsung did not include it in the box.
The Galaxy A25 5G does have something different – it comes with stereo speakers, which the A15/15 5G doesn’t.
Samsung confirms that all three models will receive 4 OS updates and 5 years of security updates. The A15 series will come in four colours – with one colour being a bit different between the 4G model and the 5G model. For the Galaxy A25 5G, there will be three colours available to purchase
