Oppo teases the Find X7 and Find X7 Ultra, set to launch in China on 8 January

After months of leaks and rumours, the Oppo Find X7 series is finally official. The Chinese smartphone giant has listed the Find X7 and the Find X7 Ultra on its China online website. At the moment though, Chinese users can only place a pre-order reservation for these upcoming flagship smartphones, with a full reveal set to happen on 8 January, 2024 at 2.30pm.

Let’s first take a look at what we know for sure about the Oppo Find X7 and the Find X7 Ultra. For starters, with the regular Find X7, it will come with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, while curiously the Find X7 Ultra will only come with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage; this could be a mistake on the Oppo China website but it is a little weird that the ‘Ultra’ version will only have half the max storage of its sibling.

Based off the website, the Find X7 will come in four colour options which are Starry Sky Black, Smoky Purple, Sea and Sky, and Desert Silver Moon; the last two of those will get a part-leather, part-glass finish, while the former two get all-glass back panels. As for the Find X7 Ultra, it will come with Sea and Sky, Desert Silver Moon and a third colour option reserved only for the Ultra which is Pine Shadow; it is still a semi-glass, semi-leather design but gets a stitched finish on the black leather sections. On top of that, the renders of the device on the listings also show an alert slider on the side, seemingly adopted from their sister brand OnePlus.

As for what we can expect, the rumour mill had previously indicated that the regular Find X7 will come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, while the Find X7 Ultra will get a mildly larger 6.82-inch, QHD+ AMOLED display instead. The former may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 while the latter will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 under the hood instead. The Find X7 Ultra will also come with two periscope telephoto cameras on the back, offering up to 135mm equivalent zoom, while the regular Find X7 will get a single periscope telephoto offering up to 70mm equivalent zoom.

Nevertheless, the cameras on both devices should still get the Hasselblad branding on the back, as well as 5,000mAh batteries with 100W wired fast charging though the Ultra may offer 50W wireless fast charging too. Oppo had also previously hinted at satellite connectivity via BeiDou for the Find X7 series.
