Honor Magic V2 specs and features
The Honor Magic V2 was first unveiled in China back in July 2023. The new foldable is priced from CNY 8,999 (about RM5,832) for the 256GB storage version and goes all the way up to CNY 11,999 (about RM7,776) for the ultimate version with 1TB of storage.
The outer cover display is a 6.43″ 120Hz OLED panel that pushes Full HD+ (2376×1060) resolution. Meanwhile, the inner display uses a flexible 7.92″ 120Hz OLED panel with a 2344×2156 pixels resolution.
Compared to its predecessor, Magic V2 has gone through a severe diet reducing its overall weight from 267g (VS) to 231g (V2). Meanwhile, the overall folded thickness has been reduced from 12.9mm (VS) to 9.9mm (V2). When unfolded, the Magic V2 is only 4.7mm thin, which is 1.4mm thinner than the VS.
Under the hood, the Honor Magic V2 runs on a rather capable Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which is one gen older than the current latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The device comes with 16GB of RAM across the range and it comes in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage options.
In the camera department, the rear gets a triple camera setup featuring a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 20MP telephoto camera with OIS with up to 2.5x optical zoom and up to 40x digital zoom. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 16MP cut-out camera on both displays.
The Magic V2 comes with a 5,000mAh battery and it supports 66W fast wired charging via USB-C. Unfortunately, there’s no wireless charging or IP-rated dust and water resistance. The device supports 5G as well as 802.11be WiFi 7, subject to OTA upgrade.
Out of the box, it runs on MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. Just in case you’re still in doubt, all new Honor smartphones have access to Google Mobile Service including the Google Play Store.
