ChargEV has just switched on what appears to be their largest DC charging hub yet located at Aeon Mall Shah Alam. The new charging location has a total of 8 charging bays which include 6 for DC fast charging and 2 for AC charging.
ChargEV offers 6 DC and 2 AC charge points at Aeon Mall Shah Alam
The ChargEV DC and AC charge points are located at the open-air carpark of Aeon Mall Shah Alam. You can find them underneath the ramp towards the exit. Two of the DC charge points (#1 and #2) are covered while the remaining charge points are not.
If you need to top up your EV quickly, ChargEV has deployed a Kempower DC charger with dynamic power sharing which has a total of six CCS2 connectors. Each connector can deliver up to 320kW. On the Kia EV6, we managed to charge from 17% to 80% in just 17 minutes.
Take note that your actual charging rate depends on your EV’s battery architecture, supported speed, state of charge and the number of EVs connected to the charger at the same time. With its dynamic power-sharing setup, the charger can effectively distribute available capacity to the next EV that’s plugged in.
For those who plan on staying at the mall for a couple of hours, ChargEV has deployed a StarCharge AC charge point with two Type-2 nozzles. The hardware itself can support up to 22kW of AC charging but ChargEV is only listing up to 11kW on its app. According to a check-in on Plugshare, someone has managed to get 6.3kW (32 Amp) on their BYD Atto 3 which comes with a single-phase onboard charger.
ChargEV EV charger pricing at Aeon Mall Shah Alam
Similar to ChargEV’s Berjaya Times Square location, these ultra-fast DC chargers are priced at RM1.60 per kWh. Meanwhile, the AC charge points are priced at RM1.00 per kWh.
To activate these chargers, you’ll need to use the ChargEV app which is available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The charging session is charged to your saved credit or debit card in the app.
Take note that Aeon Mall parking fees apply. If you’re an Aeon member, you can enjoy free parking for the first two hours.
