If you want to give yourself faster broadband speed this Christmas, Yes 5G has introduced a shorter 12-month contract option for its Yes 5G Wireless Broadband plan with the 5G Router bundle. The Yes 5G Wireless broadband offers unlimited and uncapped 5G data and speeds for only RM99/month.
Yes 5G Wireless Broadband + 5G Router on shorter 12-month contract
Typically, Yes 5G offers the Wireless 5G broadband plan with the free Infinite Gateway 5G WiFi 6 router (worth RM1,199) combo on a 24-month contract. As part of its Christmas promo, you can get the unlimited 5G wireless broadband plan and the Infinite Gateway Router with a shorter lock-in period of 12 months. The difference is that you’ll need to pay RM299 upfront for the Infinite Gateway Router.
While there’s a higher upfront payment during registration, this could be a more affordable option in the long run as you could switch to the Yes 5G Wireless Broadband Flexi Plan of only RM58/month after your contract is over. The Flexi plan offers unlimited and uncapped 5G data and speed, but if it switches to the 4G network, it has a lower quota of 100GB instead of 150GB on the RM99/month Gateway plans.
The included router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands and you can connect up to 32 devices. If you prefer a wired connection to the router, there’s also one LAN port at the back of the gateway. The wireless 5G broadband service is a viable alternative to fibre broadband as you can set it up quickly without any complicated wiring or installation.
In terms of speeds, it all depends on your area’s 5G coverage that’s being deployed by Digital Nasional Berhad. On average, some locations could give about 300-500Mbps for downloads. According to Yes 5G, DNB promises to deliver a minimum download speed of at least 100Mbps within 5G coverage areas.
Yes 5G Wireless Broadband comes with 7 Day Return Policy
Yes 5G is also offering a 7-day return policy in case your home isn’t well covered by the 5G coverage. To be eligible for the 7-day return Policy, you’ll need to submit a request via the Yes Store within 7 days and encounter no service or slow service connection at your registered premise. On top of that, you must not exceed 10GB of data usage during the 7-day window.
