Tesla vehicle owners can juice up their EVs at the Tesla Service Centre in Cyberjaya. This is Tesla Malaysia’s 5th Supercharger location which has a total of 8 charging bays. This brings the total of Tesla-deployed DC chargers in the country to 24, which is almost half of its required deliverables under MITI’s Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) Global Leaders program.
The chargers are located just at the entrance of the Tesla Service Centre which is opposite the Tesla Experience Centre. There are four Supercharger stalls capable of pushing DC fast charging up to 250kW and four Destination chargers that provide up to 22kW of AC charging.
Take note that there are Superchargers and Destination chargers near the Delivery Centre at Cyberjaya but they are for internal use only.
The Superchargers can deliver up to 282km of range for the Model 3 in just 15 minutes. Meanwhile, the Destination chargers (Model 3 supports up to 11kW) can top up to 71km of range per hour.
In Malaysia, Tesla Superchargers are priced at RM1.25 per kWh while its Destination chargers are free to use until further notice. The Tesla chargers in Malaysia are still limited to Tesla vehicles only. To discourage hogging, Tesla imposes an idle fee of RM2 per minute if 50% of the stations are occupied or RM4 per minute if all stations are in use. There’s no app or card required to activate the chargers, as Tesla owners can just plug in and start charging.
Other Tesla Supercharger locations include Freeport A’ Famosa outlet in Melaka, Sunway Pyramid in Bandar Sunway, Sunway BigBox in Johor and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
In case you missed it, Tesla Malaysia has started deliveries for its upgraded Tesla Model 3 sedan. For the full connected experience, Tesla has also introduced its Premium Connectivity plan which is priced at RM35.99 per month.
